Aging in Light of Changing Values and New Data

AGING IS DISCUSSED IN LEGAL, RELIGIOUS, AND MEDICAL ASPECTS WITH SPECIALISTS IN THE SCOPE OF ITS ANNUAL SPRING SYMPOSIA.

“Spring Symposia” continue to discuss a part of changing family structure and present solutions every year. KASAV discussed male and female roles as basis of family and how our approach to problems should be while in previous years symposia were organized on children as fruits of families and youth as our future. At the sixth ‘Spring Symposia’ on Senior Citizens Week “Aging in Light of Changing Values and New Data” was discussed.

Changing economic indicators, societal values, and socio-demographic differentiation demonstrate that status of senior citizens in society change. If we keep in mind the World Health Organization definition of health as a complete state of physical, mental, and social well-being, we can conclude that a healthy aging is possible with good physical, mental, and social aging. In this scope, the symposium discussed status of senior citizens in society; aging and old age in sociological, legal, religious, and medical aspects and papers are presented on physical, mental, and social well-being of senior citizens.
