This was a cooperative project we ran with 22 non-governmental organizations active country-wide in order to support families of the victims of the mining accident that took place in 2014 in Soma district of Manisa. Aim of this project was to introduce families that were affected by the Soma accident with non-governmental aid organizations and providing them with on-site and distance social, legal, and psychological support for one year. We reached families of 128 victims and provided assistance with our 110 volunteers.
During the project a total of 1026 house visits were conducted by all of the NGO’s, an average of 8 house visits per family and a total of 3072 phone calls were made.
